What will you achieve?
Beatrice Blue’s workshop will focus on the development process of a picture book and illustration, from the first idea to the finished book.
We will start from an idea and learn all the necessary steps to write and/or illustrate a picture book. We will focus on planning our own project and on the full development of appealing characters.
In this workshop, you will also learn about how to pitch and put together an idea for an original picture book. We will brainstorm together and speak about the best practices and challenges of facing a project by yourself.
Beatrice will give two demos during the course, during these demos and the working time she will introduce discussions about usual requested topics; such as story telling, illustration and writing processes, the literary industry, publishers, agencies, balance in between personal projects and work, finding your own personal style to be comfortable and enjoy, tools to work, and developing your portfolio among other interesting topics.
